Xmas with the Kids

Well the kids are almost 3 months old. Can you believe it
Time really flies when youre having fun

Mommy and daddy are adjusting to life quite well with our two beautiful angels. The kids are now sleeping 4-5 hours straight thru the night and we are able to get a few hours of uninterrupted sleep several night a week. (Thank goodness!!!)

Since the last posting the babies were witnesses to some amazing history. Daddy's beloved Philadelphia Phillies won the 2008 World Series Championship and Sen. Barack Obama won the 2008 Presidential election. Not bad for a couple of 2 month old babies

The babies were also able to meet Grandma Maroney who visited during October. Grandma M was very helpful and lent support to the Shannon and Nigel during the first few weeks. Grandma Maroney also helped cheer on the Phillies during the playoffs. Thanks Mom!!!

We are getting really excited to celebrate the kids first Xmas. Mommy and Daddy cant wait to watch them "open" their gifts Xmas morning. We are sure that the Garrett's and the Maroney's will also be spoiling these two with lots and lots of gifts this Xmas!!!

Next month we are looking forward to the Christening of the babies at our local church

Two weeks and counting

Well the babies have made it home and are adjusting quite well. Grandma and Grandpa Garrett as well as Aunt Tash came over to help Nigel and Shannon during the babies first week home. Ben has put on ton of weight and now almost 6 lbs. Miss Kira has surpassed the 6 lb threshold and is now 6lbs 4 ozs.

The babies are surviving on a steady diet of mothers milk and formula every 3 hours. Mommy and Daddy aren't getting much sleep but the two little angels are absolutely worth it.

Shannon's mom Elinor is here to help during week two and we look forward to many more sleepless nights and wonderful memories. Enjoy the pics below

Welcome Benjamin and Kira Garrett

Well we did it!!!!!

The twins arrived on Monday September 29, 2008

Both were born healthy and we are both extremely excited to welcome the newest additions to our family. Big sister Kira came first followed by little brother Ben.

Mom is a little sore but doing very well. Dad is as proud as can be.





Kira' name means "sunshine" in Persian. Her middle name is in tribute of Shannon's niece, Jackie Loffer, who passed away earlier this year.

Benjamin Robert is named after his paternal and maternal grandfathers respectively.

Thanks to all of our family and friends who have supported us thru this journey...WE COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT ALL OF YOU!!!!! We love you all

37 weeks and counting

We are now entering the homestretch. Shannon is really felling the babies as they are extremely active. We have all the cribs, bassinets, and clothing ready to go. Bags are packed and by time I submit the next post we will be parents. We cant wait to share this special moment with all of you.

34 weeks and counting

We are now 34 weeks into this incredible journey.

We have just set up some of the baby furniture and gotten the room ready for the babies.

Shannon is doing well, slightly exhausted but hanging in there.
The babies are constantly moving and you can see their little arms and legs moving around in Shannon's stomach.

We are now in the homestretch as the babies are due at the end of this month.
